Founding Vision brings America’s origin story into the present through the symbolic return of one of the most beloved silver dollar designs in American numismatics: the Morgan Dollar.

Set inside the Assembly Room at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, this painting imagines the Founding Fathers gathered in serious debate, surrounded by green-covered tables, candlelight, documents, quills, and the architectural grandeur of the room where American independence became more than an idea. Above them, two ghostly visions of the 1776–2026 dual-dated Morgan Silver Dollar hover in the air: Liberty on the obverse to the left, and the eagle reverse to the right.

The coins are not presented as ordinary objects. They appear as luminous historical apparitions, linking the founding generation to America’s Semiquincentennial celebration. The result is a collector-focused heritage scene that connects 1776, 2026, Independence Hall, and the Morgan Dollar into one cohesive work of American fine art.

This piece was composed with canvas presentation in mind, including additional visual breathing room around the major subjects to help protect the floating Morgan coins and central debate scene on a gallery-wrap canvas.

Perfect for collectors who appreciate American history, classic coin design, Morgan Dollars, and art that tells a larger national story.

Artist Message

This piece was created to feel like a moment where history briefly becomes visible.

I wanted the Assembly Room at Independence Hall to feel alive again — not empty, not frozen, but filled with debate, conviction, uncertainty, and purpose. The Founding Fathers are shown in the middle of deliberation because the American story was not created passively. It was argued over, written down, defended, and passed forward.

The ghostly 1776–2026 Morgan Silver Dollars represent that passage of time. Liberty and the eagle hover above the room almost like witnesses, connecting the founding generation to America’s 250th anniversary. The Morgan Dollar has always carried a powerful visual identity, and here it becomes more than a coin. It becomes a symbol of continuity, memory, and national inheritance.

My goal was to create a painting that a collector could live with — something historically reverent, visually rich, and connected to the emotional pride of collecting.
