I’ve always loved that Seabiscuit wasn’t supposed to win anything — too small, too awkward, too slow on paper — and then he became the story a whole country leaned on. I wanted this piece to carry that feeling: the noise, the dust, the impossible turn made real. Setting the Buffalo Nickel into the track was my way of letting the coin of the era stand witness to the moment.
